On December 19th, students, teachers, and parents from Harrow Hengqin came together for a creative and heartwarming evening—the Arts Soirée! In this winter season, we prepared a special artistic feast for all the parents and students who love art and pursue beauty. This event showcased the holistic education at Harrow Hengqin, allowing students to step outside the classroom and embrace their passions. Together, we created an unforgettable evening with music, artwork, and light on campus.
As night fell, we held a grand lighting ceremony. When the colourful lights illuminated every corner of the campus, the brilliance of that moment warmed our hearts, bringing endless hope and joy to the Harrow Hengqin family!
Students and parents wandered through our art exhibition area, admiring the stunning works of students from Great 6 to 8. Inspired by the Brothers Grimm’s “The Piper of Hamelin,” the students recreated the charm of the German town of Hamelin through paintings, prints, and designs. These works not only showcased the students’ extraordinary creativity but also laid a solid foundation for the drama performance of “The Piper of Hamelin” next semester.
The winter music concert began with a performance of “The Cuckoo.” Here, students and parents enjoyed classical music, traditional folk songs, and modern pop tunes performed by Harrow students. From Scottish dances to Händel ‘s La Passacaglia Fantasia,” from “XuanCao Flower” to the melodious ” Gao Shan Qing,” each piece was a journey for the soul.
The Arts Soirée was not only a feast for the eyes and ears but also an opportunity to spread kindness. The ticket sales for the event were managed by our student leadership team. This was not only an opportunity for them to develop their skills but also a way to raise funds to support conservation projects. Behind every ticket was a gesture of love for the Earth, allowing us to contribute to protecting nature together.
Because of the Arts Soirée, we came together at Harrow Hengqin, sharing warmth through art and demonstrating our commitment to protecting nature through action. It was a night for everyone—a wonderful evening filled with creativity and joy. Thank you for creating such beautiful memories with us as we welcome the new year!
