Director of the Hengqin Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government Visited Harrow Hengqin

On the afternoon of 11 October 2024, Nie Xinping, Director of the Hengqin Office of the Guangdong Provincial People’s Government and deputy director of the Executive Committee of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, along with Huang Yujie, Director of Livelihood Affairs Bureau, Xu Fengmei, Deputy Director of Livelihood Affairs Bureau, and Tang Cuibing, Acting Division Head of Education Development Division visited Harrow LiDe School Hengqin to conduct research on the school’s operation. They were accompanied by Dr. Ahmed Hussain, Chief Education Officer of AISL Harrow,and Ms. Elise Li, Chinese Principal of Harrow Hengqin ,along with other members of the senior leadership team of the school.

Mr. Nie and his team conducted an on-site inspection of various teaching facilities at Harrow Hengqin, including the auditorium, art classrooms, lower school classrooms, upper school laboratories, study rooms for sixth form, and the boarding house. They also interacted warmly with the students.

During the visit, Dr.  Hussain introduced Harrow LiDe’s educational philosophy, its unique holistic education, and the upcoming AISL Harrow Rowing Regatta- Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Series – Hengqin Tinmuk Rowing Regatta scheduled for the end of November. He expressed gratitude to the Livelihood Affairs Bureau for their strong support as the guiding unit. Ms. Li reported on the current status of Harrow Hengqin and highlighted the school’s impressive achievements in this year’s IGCSE examinations, leading other international and bilingual schools in the Greater Bay Area.

Mr. Nie expressed high praise for Harrow Hengqin’s outstanding achievements in just a few years of operation and hoped that the school would consistently maintain its leading position in international examinations. He noted that Harrow Hengqin is an important international school within the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone and a key educational infrastructure in Hengqin, contributing significantly to attracting investment and serving high-end talent. He expressed the wish for Harrow Hengqin to continue to thrive.
