Curriculum Overview

G1-G9 LiDe Curriculum

The Harrow LiDe School’s innovative curriculum is designed by seasoned Harrow education experts, integrating the essence and advantages of China’s nine-year compulsory education with the UK National Curriculum and incorporating contemporary educational philosophies.

Harrow’s teaching philosophy and educational methods are globally respected. We use the time-honored British Harrow School teaching methods, delivering subjects like Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, English, Physics, PE, and IT in English while teaching Language Studies, Moral Education, History, Geography, and Chinese Cultural Studies in Chinese. This approach, a pioneering model within China, ensures students absorb the best of both Eastern and Western education methods.

Our curriculum is thoughtfully designed to help students of all ages build knowledge and learning skills, offering academic support or enrichment guidance as needed. Key features include:

Adherence to the standards of the Chinese national curriculum.

Professional teaching in both Chinese and English, ensuring the development of students’ bilingual abilities.

A variety of learning methods to foster students’ growth in knowledge, skills, and understanding.

Rich learning experiences beyond the classroom, including study tours, performances, business projects, and community service.

A comprehensive skill-building system integrated with all subject areas.

Moral education and Harrow’s core values embedded in all learning activities.

Opportunities to develop individual interests and talents.

Students engage in the curriculum with a proactive attitude; as present and future global citizens, they are highly valued.

G9-G10 IGCSE Curriculum

The high school curriculum builds on the knowledge and skills acquired in junior high, with higher academic expectations, focusing on preparing students for international standardized exams. During the course, students enhance and expand their academic abilities to prepare for the IGCSE exams, typically taken in Year 10. Subjects include Art, Music, Biology, Chemistry, Business Studies, Economics, Drama, English as a First Language, English as a Second Language, English Literature, Chinese, Mathematics, Physics, and PE. Teachers design lesson plans to inspire students’ passion for learning, challenge and motivate them, and develop skills and knowledge that transcend traditional subject boundaries.

G11-G12 A-Level Curriculum

After completing IGCSE exams, students enter the final stage of their education, preparing for university entrance. Over two years, students study A-Level courses, which are the gold standard in the UK educational system and are widely recognized by universities worldwide. The curriculum is challenging yet engaging, allowing students to choose subjects for in-depth study based on their strengths. Many students also pursue the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) to enhance research skills and delve into areas of personal interest.
